World War I Finally Ends For Germany

TVNZ reports:
Germany will be paying off the last few monetary penalties imposed on it by the Allies 92 years ago, this coming Sunday.
The final payments of $127 million will officially end the reparations the country was made to pay after World War I, which officially ended on November 11, 1918.
Germany was forced to pay the reparations at the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 as compensation to the nations of Belgium and France and to pay the Allies some of the costs of waging a war that left nearly 10 million soldiers dead.
I had no idea the Germans were still paying reparations. It seems a bit absurd, when you consider the burden of reparations on Germany was one of the causes of World War II.
