Right Whingers: Edition XXXVIII

Isn't it amusing how, after having it almost entirely their own way for most of the last three years, supporters of National now accuse the media of political bias?

David Farrar also worries that the media are no longer simply publishing National Party talking points as news.

Could the answer be to put Paul Henry on TV3 24-7? They should do a whip-around to try keep Henry in New Zealand.

Maybe the problem for these folk is that the media are just not biased enough.

  1. Nice try Scott, but you miss this bit from du Fresne:

I should state here that I am not a supporter of Key or the National Party (I’m certainly right of centre, but I’ve voted for Labour far more often than for National), and I repeat that I’m not in the habit of alleging institutional editorial bias based on one or two examples. Now and again a report may lean one way or the other, but generally things balance out in the long run. What worries me about 3 News is that a persistent pattern seems to have emerged.

  2. He's certainly right of centre and, based on what I have read, probably hasn't voted Labour for some years, except perhaps by accident. The allegation of bias is a load of crock.

  3. Must admit that an occasional TV clip that puts Labour in a favourable light surprises me when it happens. And the few times when they attempt to hold Key to account is pretty rare too. Of course Key would not appear for interviews so serves him right.
OK to put a link to Labour's final address to be aired on Friday TV?

  4. Can't keep Paul Henry here to appear on the news. It's now described as cruelty to keep a performing chimp in captivity(even though Paul Henry would love to appear at a tea party!)
