Seven Sharp: A Concise Review

It didn't work.

  1. I didn't watch it - but I instinctively want to blame Jesse Mulligan

  2. I'll stick with Campbell Live then, the two or three times a year that I get to watch TV at 7pm...

  3. I really really really wanted to like it. It's not the format, it's the content. Actually, is that like saying 'it's not you, it's me?'

  4. I say give them time to get comfortable, learn from the mistakes and improve.

Bit harsh to condemn them after just the first outing.

    1. Things may improve, but I fear the entire premise of the show is fatally flawed. I'm not sure who their audience is. Anyone who wants serious current affairs will watch Campbell Live, while younger viewers are probably watching TV2.

But if they want to fix the show they could start with changing a few things. The jokes weren't funny, the attempt to combine the serious and whimsical didn't work, there was too much mindless banter, and the show was about 30 minutes too long.

Fix those problems and they could have a great show on their hands.

  5. We are now spoiled for choice in the 7pm slot.
We can watch the green party tv show on 3
We can watch the massive Paul Henry shaped hole on 1
Or like me we can watch the Crowd goes wild with added Hayley Holt on Prime.

    1. The 7pm Simpsons reruns on 4 are now the best option, seriously.

  6. I did watch 7 Sharp but about halfway through I was distracted by the struggles of a sick fly. Much more interesting.

On debut they received double the viewers than the chardonnay socialists @ TV3. And way, way, way more viewers than Bumber Bradbury, the neo-Marxist loudmouth and useful village idiot of the left gets watching his broom cupboard sized vanity project playing way out in the backblocks of community services telly.
